Bonnie Vize is an Associate in Ministry serving St. Paul Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Mayville, Wisconsin.
The inspiration for our first little book comes from the children of Mayville, many of whom sing in the Cherub and Alleluia Choirs at the church. They are enthusiastic and full of life, just like our mice!
In our next book, The Mystery of the Park Pavilion, the mice (and other creatures) will be named after the choir children and the youth of our Y.E.S. Club at the church. The way those children are reflected on the page will be up to the artist, Chris Brander.
The creative team brought together in this book have just begun on what we hope is a long, long journey.

Chris Brander is the driving force behind the St. Paul Art Center. As a young girl, Chris always loved drawing and painting animals, especially horses and cats.
Chris decided right away that the artwork in the Marching Mice of Mayville had to be done in watercolor and ink. She sought the expertise of her mother, Joyce Jackson, on watercolor techniques.
The many 'critters' residing in her yard on the Rock River were the inspiration for the look of the Mayville Mice.
The opportunity to illustrate this book was made possible by many blessings from God, her loving husband, Robert, and daughter, Heidi.
